Reindeer Games Open

Today is an exciting day here at the North Pole. The Reindeer Games are now officiall open!

The opening ceremonies started a little after 9am with a prayer led by Elf Victor. Then Santa stepped up to the microphone to tell the reindeer that he was proud of every single one of them. He told them it didn’t matter where they placed as long as they tried their best. When Santa had finished Elf Victor once again took the stage and cut the ribbon to officially open the reindeer games. I managed to get a quick interview with Elf Victor before the first game.

“We have thousands of reindeer here at the North Pole this year and all but the youngest of them and their mothers will be participating in the games.” Elf Victor said. “That is the more reindeer than the last 2 years combined. Today we will start with the speed competitions. Usually it would take us 2 days to get through the all the races but with this many reindeer we’re not sure how long it will take. The schedule is kind of up in the air right now.”

Elf Victor promised to keep me updated on the schedule as the games go forward. He said it could take up to two weeks to complete the games and come up with an overall champion. Rudolph has been training especially hard this year and is favored to win because his muscles are so much bigger than last year.

I also checked in with Elf Billy and he informed me that the CIA has given him permission to use one of their satellites on Christmas Eve if needed. “They told me they would do anything to help out Santa” Billy said. “”They even offered to put a spy plane in the air to help us if we need it. That’s why I love working with them. They are huge fans of Santa and help us out whenever we need it.”
