Excitement Builds as North Pole Prepares for Light Competition

It is a busy Saturday at the North Pole as folks here are working on their lights, Christmas trees and yard decorations in advance of the big lighting ceremony at the North Pole later next week. Every year, Santa flips the switch on the lights here at the North Pole and then walks the neighborhoods with Mrs. Claus, judging the efforts of elves who go all out to win the lighting contest.

“I hope I win,” said Elf Roger, who has been lighting his home every year for the past 37 years without a victory. “We’re adding another 5,000 lights and some music to this year’s display. I wanted to add animated snowmen having a snowball fight but my wife said that just wasn’t right. So we will just stick with the new lights and the music.”

Santa has celebrated Thanksgiving already this year with Canadians but he plans this week to celebrate Thanksgiving with Americans. “He just loves Thanksgiving,” Elf Ed Zachary said. “There isn’t anything about Thanksgiving that he doesn’t like. It’s all good to him.”

We remind you that our daily updates from the North Pole begin with Thanksgiving in America and continue each day right here on Santa Update.com all the way until December 23rd, when serious Santa tracking news is shared every fifteen minutes until Santa delivers around the world. We hope you join us again.
