One of the biggest Christmas traditions in many countries of Central America is Church. While most parts of the world attend Church on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day in Central America many places have special Church events that run for 10 days leading up to Christmas.

It is a happy time, one of festive music and glad gatherings. In Venezuela children there famously head to church on their roller skates.

And they also have a knack for sending letters to Santa at this time. The North Pole Post Office says the rate of letters and messages coming in from Central America this year is “off the charts”.
