Happy HalloweenHappy Halloween from the North Pole! It’s an exciting day and it is a great kick off to the Christmas season.

You should know though that today isn’t a very productive day at the North Pole. Santa’s workshop is closed, the wrapped department is shuttered and even the North Pole Post Office is working with minimal staff.

The oddest thing about this Halloween is all the snow we’re getting. My goodness, it’s like someone flipped on a snow switch or something. It is not unusual for us to have snow already at the North Pole in October but I cannot remember a year when there has been this MUCH snow. We can’t shovel it fast enough.

Making things more difficult for us is a shortage of reindeer. Oh, we have 3400 reindeer here as part of the test pilot project for Santa’s sleigh but Santa has ordered them to take the weekend off, too. So there will be no sleigh rides this snowy Halloween because all the regular reindeer are still not here.

Hopefully they will be home soon before the snow gets much deeper.

We’re going to be holding the big Halloween party here this evening. This is one of the biggest events at the North Pole. Providing people don’t mind wading through all the snow to get here.

The guys over at North Pole Radio News just shared their own report about this.

They were supposed to talk about the North Pole Chat with Elf Crash Murphy scheduled for tomorrow. But they didn’t quite cover that much in depth because Crash decided to walk in all this snow to the community center, where the party will be held.

Chat with Crash

Anyway, come to the chat on Sunday at  2pm EST to question Elf Crash Murphy about the Halloween party, about Santa tracking elves or about following Santa around the world on Christmas Eve. Crash has vowed to answer any questions you might have. So come one and all!

What are you dressing up as for Halloween? Let us know in the comments below!

I’m not dressing up for Halloween, but I hope people have fun… safely, of course! A part of Northeast USA just had a pretty big snowfall too, but not for my area unfortunately 🙁 I can’t wait for the first snow! Hoping the reindeer arrive at the North Pole soon, take care elfs!
