Understanding Sectors

Sectors are an important way that Santa plans his trip around the world. Santa builds his flight plan around breaking up the world into five different parts, which he calls sectors. A sector is a portion of the world that contains many countries.

The first sector Santa goes to is Sector 1. It contains the nations of Australia, New Zealand, and all the island nations of the South Pacific such as Tonga, Fiji and Samoa, among many others.

Once Sector 1 is delivered to, Santa moves on the Sector 2, which is an entirely different area of the world. To understand where each sector is and how the world map is divided, we encourage you to look at the sector map at SantaTrackers.net.

This week’s radio news report, which you can listen to in the player below, Elf Crash Murphy is actually in the regional tracking center set up in Sector 1. It is located in Bethlehem, New Zealand this year. Elf Frank Myrrh talks to Crash about Sector 1 and what makes it special and unique.

We invite you to study the sectors that Santa has set up. We encourage you to know which sector you are in. This will help you to follow along Santa when he begins his deliveries at Christmas time.

It will even help you understand time zones and how they work in the mission of Santa.
