Donner Has Not Yet Returned to the North Pole

Donner, Santa’s lead reindeer, has not yet returned to the North Pole. For some reason, a lot of people are growing anxious about that.

We remind you that ALL the reindeer last year did not return until right around Thanksgiving. So even though most of the reindeer are back early this year there is no reason to really be concerned yet.

Nevertheless, elves in Santa’s workshop have opened a betting pool (with sugar cookies) where elves guess the date they predict he will return. The pool has seen a lot of activity (elves love to bet with cookies) but underlying all that fun there is a current of real concern about where Donner might be.

After all, why wouldn’t he be back with the rest of them?

That question has spilled over to our fans and readers out there who have been asking it in letters to the North Pole Post Office. Elf Hugo reports that in the past three weeks alone questions about Donner and his whereabouts have risen 78 percent.

We sent our crack North Pole Radio News team over to Santa’s Stables to ask some questions. They even talked to Santa. You can hear their report in the player below.

Just my own personal opinion here: we just don’t have anything to worry about. Donner is perhaps the strongest reindeer Santa has. He can take care of himself. If he is not here yet there has to be a good reason for it and, knowing Donner and Santa, I’m sure we will hear about it at the right time.

So everyone just chill out. This is not yet really something to worry about.

Elf Ernest
