Flight Command has nothing but good news to report about Santa’s sleigh. With 9 days left until the start of Operation Merry Christmas it appears the Sleigh Department is way ahead of schedule:

Operation Merry Christmas

The test flights of Santa’s sleigh have been ongoing since June. The sleigh is lighter, faster and more technologically advanced than ever. Engineers at the Sleigh Department are already taking bets on Santa being able to set a new record this year.

If you want more details on Santa’s sleigh and how it works, please see this link.

North Pole Flight Command not only runs the Sleigh Department but they are also involved in planning Santa’s flight and running the tracker Elf program that operates at SantaTrackers.net. There is a reason why Flight Command is the largest department at the North Pole. Other departments, such as the Reindeer Department and Santa’s Workshop, the Post Office and the Wrapping Department, are all important but none of them could do what they do without North Pole Flight Command.

So the fact that the news coming out of Flight Command today with 9 days remaining until the start of Operation Merry Christmas is GREAT news indeed.

Our radio news report below talks a bit about the 24/7 nature of operations at Flight Command and why elves there are always on the job.

I’d like to volunteer my services this year as a ground track elf. I have Flight Dynamics experience as a NASA engineer. Vixen’s vector will be my call sign.
