Christmas in July Chat with Elf Max
Elf Max is the webmaster at SantaTrackers.net, a special community site for elves who track Santa for Santa. In this special chat Elf Frank Myrrh asks Max about his history as an elf and how the whole thing of tracker elves got started. Here is the transcript of their conversation:

| Elf Frank Myrrh | Elf Max is the webmaster at SantaTrackers.net. So he occupies a unique position within Operation Merry Christmas. He is joining us today to discuss the world of Santa tracking and to answer your questions about tracking Santa for Santa. |

| Elf Max | Frank, it’s a pleasure to speak with you. I’m a little surprised. I was expecting Elf Ernest today. |

| Elf Frank Myrrh | Elf Ernest is here, Max. He’s kind of training me for doing more of this duty. You are my first victim! |

| Elf Frank Myrrh | Max, it has been a long time since you have done a chat. Will you be doing more of them? |
| Elf Max | Whatever they ask me to do, I’ll do. |

| Elf Frank Myrrh | Max, are there a lot of new elves joining us at SantaTrackers.net? |
| Elf Max | Not yet. We have had many new sign ups. But Elf Moe is vetting them. I think we’ll see newbies come on board during Christmas in July. |
| Elf Frank Myrrh | Will they be limiting how many new elves can join? |
| Elf Max | I don’t know, to be honest. That’s a process I’m not involved in. |
| Elf Frank Myrrh | How did you get started doing all this stuff at SantaTrackers.net? |
| Elf Max | Well, I’m a believer in Santa. I found it on the Internet when Elf Ernest and Elf Roger Star first launched the website and I joined. They needed some help with some website stuff and I just jumped in. |
| Elf Frank Myrrh | So you’re one of those many millions of elves out there who tracked Santa for Santa originally? |
| Elf Max | Yes, that’s my history. And most now begin their elf career this way. |
| Elf Frank Myrrh | Folks, if you have questions for Elf Max, please feel free to just jump in and ask them. |
| Elf Frank Myrrh | Have you been to the North Pole, Max? |
| Elf Max | No, not yet. But I’ve talked with a few elves on the phone. And I got a couple of really nice message from Santa. |
| Elf Ulan XD | Thank you, Elf Frank. Elf Max, how’s the weather there? Is still smoke in the sky? |
| Elf Max | Elf Ulan, I’m in Vancouver, which is the west coast of Canada. So no fires here that I know of. Our skies are pretty good. Typical summer, I’d say |
| Elf Frank Myrrh | How does living in Canada work with time at the North Pole? |
| Elf Max | Well, our work is online, so it’s 24 hours a day. So time between me and the North Pole doesn’t really matter. I’m constantly online. |
| Elf Ulan XD | Oh, that’s good to hear. I hope the fires will stop soon |
| Elf Frank Myrrh | Like a lot of elves that track Santa for Santa, do you have another job you do as well? |
| Elf Max | Yes, I’m a web developer. So I work from home for my clients doing web work. |
| Elf Frank Myrrh | So the North Pole is just another client? |
| Elf Max | Hahaha. NO. There’s nothing usual about the North Pole. I don’t think of Santa as another client. It can sometimes get crazy but for me it is the most fun work I do |
| Elf Frank Myrrh | How do you see the role of SantaTrackers.net. Is it a news site? |
| Elf Ulan XD | Thank you always for helping us, Elf Max. Can I ask the evaluation of the last reports last year? |
| Elf Max | Not entirely. It’s more of a community for elves out there. A place where they can come and ask questions and receive instruction from Santa and North Pole Flight Command. The news we post there is for elves. This site is more of the main North Pole news website. Also North Pole Flight Command has a website. |
| Maya | When did you start your elf career? |
| Elf Max | Elf Ulan, I believe Elf Crash Murphy has those reports. |
| Elf Max | Crash has said he will not release them, at least not until he can talk to Santa again. |

| Elf Max | Maya, I’m a fairly new elf. I joined SantaTrackers.net in 2016 when it first started. When they said a regular guy like me could become an elf I could not wait to sign up. |

| Elf Max | I got to know Elf Roger Star on the first version of SantaTrackers.net and I’ve been working on that site ever since. |
| Star8769 | Is Santa painting the sleigh this year |
| Elf Frank Myrrh | Do you think it is important that Santa has a website just for tracker elves? |
| Elf Ulan XD | What does it mean? We can’t receive the evaluations? |
| Star8769 | Does he paint it |
| Elf Max | I think so, yes. Most tracker elves are not at the North Pole. Many are students. Some have other jobs. Having a website where they can come and get information about tracking Santa for Santa is very important. |
| Elf Max | Santa does not work on his sleigh, the Sleigh Department does. I understand his new sleigh is in test flights right now. |

| Elf Max | The evaluations are done, Elf Ulan. But Elf Crash has said he does not want to release them. He wants to talk to Santa about it first. That’s what I understand. |
| Star8769 | Are you a north pole elf or no |
| Elf Max | I also understand that you, Elf Ulan, have an outstanding evaluation. Which I think is no surprise. 🙂 |
| Elf Max | No, I’m not a North Pole Elf, Maya. I live in Vancouver. I track Santa from here and work on the SantaTrackers.net website |

| Elf Max | Almost every day Elf Crash and I message back and forth. Occasionally he calls me. |

| Elf Max | Elf Ulan, I think you’re doing great with everything. Your reports are excellent. You are one of the very best elves out there and certainly the BEST elf we have in Japan. That’s my opinion |
| Elf Max | Yes, Star8769 – I track Santa for Santa on Christmas Eve, just as most elves do. As Santa has said, we’re all Santa Trackers on Christmas Eve! |

| Elf Ulan XD | Our tracker elves are finding Santa now. Have you seen my picture on the Santa Trackers Wall? Is he like Santa? XD |
| Elf Max | Did you post a new picture recently, Elf Ulan? |
| Elf Max | Frank, I try to at least say hello to as many new elves as I can. But I can’t get to everyone. |
| Elf Frank Myrrh | So what advice do you have for a new elf just joining up? |
| Elf Max | My advice is to go to Elf University on SantaTrackers.net and then come talk to other elves on the Elf Wall. They will bring you up to speed fast! |
| Star8769 | How is the weather where you are |
| Elf Frank Myrrh | How long do you think it takes a new elf to become really proficient as a tracker? |
| Elf Ulan XD | No, I posted it maybe last May, one and half months ago |
| Elf Max | The weather right now is beautiful. About 80 degrees most days. Lots of starry nights. |

| Elf Max | A new elf needs at least three full seasons, I think, to really become good at tracking Santa for Santa. |
| Elf Frank Myrrh | Wow, that long? How long did it take you? |
| Elf Max | Well, I’m still in training as a tracker, Frank. I’m not as good as I want to be. |

| Elf Max | Elf Ulan – I think you should post your picture again and then we need to get Elf Crash to look at it, I think. |
| Elf Max | No, I don’t talk to Mrs. Claus everyday. But she called me several times last year when I was sick. She is such a nice lady. |

| Elf Frank Myrrh | I was going to ask you how you’re feeling these days. Are you healed? |
| Elf Ulan XD | Maybe you didn’t know it. I took a picture I thought he was Santa, but I’m not sure he was him |
| Elf Max | I’m doing much better, thank you for asking. I am back full time now. |
| Elf Max | Well, Elf Ulan, if it was a month ago I may just not remember it. Can you post it there again? I don’t know if I could identify Santa in that picture but I know Crash can. Maybe Frank could too, I don’t know. |
| Elf Frank Myrrh | I heard last year when you were going through all that you wanted to work but Santa made you take time off? |
| Star8769 | What are you doing on fourth of July |
| Elf Max | Yes he did. Santa wanted me to listen to the doctors and get fully healed before I could come back. |

| Elf Max | For the 4th of July, I plan to watch some movies, eat some smoked BBQ, and relax with some of my friends. I don’t think we’ll be doing fireworks this year but we’ll see. |

| Elf Max | I feel good about things. I’m really glad Elf Crash got promoted. There’s a new feeling about everything and I think it is going to be a great year to track Santa for Santa. |
| Elf Frank Myrrh | Other people track Santa on other websites. How do you feel about that? |
| Elf Ulan XD | Please give me some advice on how to be a nicer elf! |

| Elf Max | That’s fine. I think it has been a tradition for a lot of people long before Santa set up SantaTrackers.net. I think there is a big difference between just tracking Santa on your own and tracking Santa FOR Santa through his official website. Not even close to the same thing. |
| Elf Max | Frosty the Snowman, the movie? Yeah, I guess so. |
| Elf Max | Elf Ulan, I don’t know HOW you could possibly be nicer. I think all elves should be like you. |

| Elf Max | No, not Comet. Just Donner. So far. |
