16 Weeks Until Christmas
Hi everyone! There are 16 weeks until Christmas and things are hopping here at the North Pole.
This week was all about the big elf job fair. You see, even the North Pole is hiring these days.
Mrs. Claus played a big part in this event. Elf Sandy Claus, head of Elf Resources at the North Pole, hosted the event that was designed to “rebalance to elf workforce”, as she likes to say.
All that means is that elves had the opportunity this week to get a new elf job. And many came and applied for jobs.
Mrs. Claus was there to sit in on interviews and to encourage elves to apply for new jobs. She didn’t think we would find any new elves but she felt the job fair would maybe help put new energy by moving elves around to new positions.
An elf in, say, the Wrapping Department might then apply for a job in North Pole Flight Command.
There are a lot of specialized elf jobs at the North Pole. Not just any elf can pick up a hammer or a screw driver and start working in Santa’s Workshop. But there are always new opportunities for elves to expand their skills and to grow into new jobs that they want.
Take Elf Fern, for example. She has worked for years as part of the sleigh bell team in the Sleigh Department. She’s a bell tuner, a very specialized job that requires lots of skill.
Fern applied for a job in Mrs. Claus’ kitchen. She looks like she is getting the job of Ingredient Quality Control Specialist Elf. She will be part of the Purchasing Department that works for Mrs. Claus’ kitchen. She will be sourcing sugars and spices used at the North Pole.
Her old job as a bell tuner could not be more different than her new job.
But Mrs. Claus was instrumental in making this happen. She wants Fern in her kitchen and Mrs. Claus says that Santa supports this kind of change. He likes it when elves take on new challenges and learns new skills.
So who takes over Fern’s job as a sleigh bell tuner?
Well, that would be Elf Zane. Zane has long worked with North Pole High School as the band director.
With his musical background Elf Zane is well suited to be a bell tuner.
So you see how this all works? Old elves in new jobs.
I think it’s kind of cool. It’s got me thinking of maybe, someday, I can be a sleigh pilot.
A girl can dream, can’t she?

Thank you, Elf Trixie! It’s passed every week so fast! Congratulations to the elves! I’m curious about who the previous Mrs. Claus’ kitchen was, lol. I hope they will work well. I’m happy to know many kinds of jobs at the North Pole. I want to work there too as a staff about the reindeer someday! XD
