Good News for Operation Merry Christmas
North Pole productivity for Operation Merry Christmas surged more than 40 percent in July, surpassing the typical post-vacation bump seen each year. Elf Wally of Logistics and Distribution attributes the increase to cancelled Christmas in July events and Santa’s focus on a new sleigh design.
August is expected to show strong numbers as well, though not as dramatic as July’s gains. Departments across the North Pole are now working to understand how this early productivity surge may affect planning for the months ahead.
An internal report issued on the 24th of each month about the status of Operation Merry Christmas indicates that North Pole productivity has soared.
The month of June is the last official month of the elf vacation period, so a bump is usually expect. But this July is more than a bump – it is an incredible increase of more than 40 percent.
That means that every North Pole department, from Santa’s workshop to the Wrapping Department, is working very hard and putting out a high level of work.
This is a very good sign for the season ahead.
Elf Wally, of the Logistics and Distribution Department and who oversees operations at the North Pole in specific regard to Operation Merry Christmas, says the cancellation of some Christmas in July events and Santa’s focus on the new sleigh design are like why things are moving along so quickly.
Elf Wally agrees with Elf Angelina Seer of the North Pole Predictions department, which is looking forward to August perform. Elf Seer expects good numbers in August but nowhere near as dramatic as it has been in July. “We normally see a strong month of August,” Elf Wally said. “That’s usually what happens after Christmas in July, elves come back to work energized and enthused, which is why we hold Christmas in July. We just set things forward a little bit with the way Christmas in July has panned out this year and we are seeing our bump early.”
It’s a good bump and many North Pole Departments are struggling to understand how it might affect the months ahead.
