Countdown to Christmas

22 Weeks Until Christmas

Greetings, my friends. There are now just 22 weeks until Christmas.

Elf Trixie Countdown to Christmas

Last week I told you about how sleigh crazy the North Pole has become. This week I think we’re going reindeer crazy.

It has already been a different summer at the North Pole because of the early return of the reindeer. Donner and Blitzen working on the test flight teams has been surprising too.

All the other “big” reindeer – you know, Rudolph, Vixen and the others – are all now “in camp” (that’s a term the Mighty Mick uses). What those reindeer are doing exactly is interesting.

Last week when it was reported that the Reindeer Operations Department is looking for 5000 more reindeer to train for this Christmas guess what they are doing to find those reindeer?

They are sending each of Santa’s reindeer who are not involved in the test flights to different reindeer ranches that Santa has around the world. They are spreading the word that Rudolph, for example, will be at a particular ranch.

Well, Rudolph is a super star. Even or especially in the world of reindeer.

There are millions of reindeer out there who do not work for Santa but there isn’t one of them who doesn’t know who Rudolph is. So naturally when they hear Rudolph will be available to meet they come to the ranch. And that is when the Reindeer Operations recruiters go to work.

I haven’t seen any new reindeer this week but I hear they are coming. Comet was at a ranch in Switzerland and he was swamped with fans. I’m told there are several hundred reindeer who have been recruited from Sector 3 coming to the North Pole very soon.

When I heard they were looking for 5000 more reindeer that number did not seem like a lot to me. Out of the millions out there surely it has to be easy to find just 5000, right?

We will see. The reindeer elves over at Santa’s Stables are sure preparing for a lot of new reindeer arrivals.

All the experienced reindeer who are “in camp” are accepting assignments related to helping the new reindeer once they get here.

Now, I want to address a couple of other things some of you have been writing to me about, specifically, Trixie, my reindeer. Far and away the biggest question asked about Trixie is whether or not she will stay on as one of Santa’s reindeer once the wedding is over.

The answer is still “I don’t know”.

I can tell you that Trix and Mix are considering a lot of things for their future but right now they ARE focused on their job. Trixie is a test flight reindeer and that sleigh, I shared with you last week, is the big focus. Trixie has a wedding to get ready for but she’s not slacking on her reindeer work when it comes to Santa’s sleigh.

And The Mick is at the Kringle Reindeer Center with Elf Big Sled Ted, working with all the early arriving reindeer and preparing for those reindeer to come.

Will we get answers soon?

I don’t think so. I’m trying not to be the meddling reindeer Mom, forcing information out of them. I want it to be their business and I will support whatever they decide whenever they decide it.

Once I know, I’ll tell you – if that’s okay with the newlyweds.

I appreciate all your messages. It’s nice to know so many of you are interested in this wedding.

I will share as much of it with you as I can.

Toodles.
