24 Weeks Until Christmas
There are now just 24 weeks until Christmas. That’s not very long!

But with 24 weeks to go until that big day there is another big day that seems to be occupying the thoughts of many of you – the wedding day, August 29th!
I don’t know what I did last week to bring on so many questions but there have been a ton.
And by the way, you can send me a question via the Ask an Elf link or via the comment section below.
What kind of questions? Well, there are many. For example, last week I talked about trying to find a tux for Big Sled Ted. Some of you want to know just how big Big Sled Ted is. Well, we’re working on updating images for everyone here at the North Pole and here is one they did of Big Sled Ted:

He’s huge.
He likes to put his big old hand on my head sometimes, you know, just to mess up my hair. He’s a teaser and sometimes he treats me like his little sister. Anyway, his hands are so big he can cover both of my ears at the same time so I can’t hear anything. He’ll cover my ears with that big mitt of his and then pretend to talk to me. He’s such a goof.
Big Sled Ted also has the biggest heart in the world and he loves, loves, loves the reindeer. Nobody ever knew that about him in the Sleigh Department, where he still works now and then. Of course, his work with The Might Mick has changed the way everyone thinks about him and you can’t talk about the reindeer these days without mentioning Elf Big Sled Ted. He is very popular.
And he’s become Mrs. Claus’ pet project for the wedding.
If there is one person who knows about how to dress a big guy, it’s Mrs. Claus. After all she is the personal tailor for Santa and his suit. (And he’s got a very unusual suit. See this link at North Pole Flight Command about Santa’s suit).
Anyway, now that Mrs. Claus is on the job for Big Sled Ted, that’s one less worry on my plate.
I’ve also been getting a lot of questions about Trixie’s wedding dress. Yes, a wedding dress. For a reindeer.
She’s a reindeer, guys. She’s not wearing a DRESS!
However, she will be wearing a headdress – a kind of lacy frilly thing with little tiny flowers in it. It’s very pretty and she loves it but some of the other reindeer keep trying to eat the little flowers.
She will be freshly groomed for the wedding and, believe it or not, she won’t let me do her eyelashes.
Trixie has beautiful eyes. And she has long, long eye lashes. Just gorgeous.
I want to give them a little trim – just a tiny little trim – but she won’t let me.
Elf Big Sled Ted explained to me that eye-lashes on a reindeer are actually really important on high speed sleigh flights. They filter out dust and help manage the impact of wind on their eyes. They are pretty important for helping a reindeer to be able to see.
That is probably true, but that’s not the reason she won’t let me touch her eyelashes.
Trixie might be a reindeer but she’s also a girl.
I get it. She likes her lashes the way she likes her lashes. And she isn’t going to let anyone touch them, not even me.
I’m a girl, too, you know.
