Easter is a big event at the North Pole. Elves and their families, especially the children, gather for a variety of events.

Easter at the North Pole

On North Pole Radio News today on Kringle Radio, Elves Frank and Crash talk about the big Saturday events at the park in North Pole Village, which includes the traditional Easter Egg Roll. Snow is in the forecast all week so the outdoor events planned for Easter this year will be especially challenging. You can hear that report in the player above.

Tomorrow is the traditional Easter quilt tie sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary. This great event involves thousands of quilters here at the North Pole and it usually runs long into the night. The goal is to have lots of new quilts to display at the North Pole Events Center for this weekend when so many plan to be out and about.

Thursday is the big Sleigh Show, put on by the North Pole Sleigh Museum. Sleighs of all types, from vintage models dating back almost 300 years to “concept” sleighs designed and built by the Research and Development Department will be on display. Not to be missed is the private collection shared by sleigh enthusiasts from all over the North Pole. Rumor has it that Elf Morty’s 1976 “land yacht” amphibious model sleigh will be on display for the first time this century at the show. The Sleigh Show runs through Saturday at the fair grounds.

Sunday features the processional to the North Pole Chapel where the traditional Easter devotional will be held, followed by the annual Easter feast with the traditional roast beast.

We hope you enjoy Easter week where you are and that you’ll return for a recap of this week’s events in North Pole News for next week.
