Leon Day at the North Pole is now in full swing and it’s gone to a new level this year.

Sleigh traffic chaos developed on Main Street in North Pole Village today as sleighs moving in reverse tried to make their way up the hill. Reindeer walking backwards pushing a sleigh is far different than reindeer walking forward pulling a sleigh.

It didn’t go well.

We received reports of several sleigh collisions with sleigh drivers getting into heated backwards conversations to complain about other sleigh drivers.

There are also long lines reported everywhere – at the North Pole Post Office, at Kringle Market, and especially at the North Pole Main Street Deli, where lunch lines are long due to people ordering their sandwiches backwards.

Schools are out for the summer season at the North Pole so things are busy at North Pole Kringle Park. The indoor pool is packed today as swimmers attempt to traverse the pool backwards.

Not everything is done backwards today at the North Pole. North Pole Flight Command has banned backwards talking in the name of safe flight operations.
