Santa’s Lists

Of all the questions received at the North Pole none is asked more than this one: “Am I on the naughty list?”

A variation of that question is, “Am I on the nice list?”

The News Department at the North Pole focuses on the news of Santa and the North Pole. But part of our mission is to answer questions – even questions we get over and over again.

Santa DOES have lists at the North Pole. He gets wish lists from believers so that he can know what to bring for Christmas. He keeps lists of elves. He keeps lists of reindeer. He keeps lists of cookies he likes.

So yes, Santa has lots of lists.

But when it comes to nice or naughty people, the answer is no. Santa does not have nice or naughty lists.

Many people believe that Santa has such lists. That is because of movies and songs about Santa.

And they are wrong.

Of course, Santa is concerned about you being nice. But he’s not a cop. He isn’t watching you, making note of what things you do that are good or bad, or listening to other people who may or may not like you for some reason.

He doesn’t do that.

Whether you are a good person or not is up to you. You don’t need Santa to tell you if you’re naughty. You already know that.

So, if you have to ask if you are on some kind of naughty list you already know that you do not really have to ask.

Santa thinks all who believe in him are nice people. If you believe in Santa, you believe in being nice. If you believe in Santa, you believe in giving. If you’re on SantaUpdate.com to read about Santa, the North Pole, or Christmas you are more than likely a very nice person.

So, the answer to your question is no. Santa does not have a list of whether you are naughty or nice.

But he knows your name. And he wants to know what you want for Christmas. You can tell him that by sending him a message here, here, here or calling him at 866-847-2682.

Yes, Santa knows your name. And he thinks you are very nice.
