Chat with Santa and Mrs. Claus
Santa and Mrs. Claus were in North Pole Chat for Christmas in July. They discussed many things but were upstaged by a happy announcement by one of our most frequent chatters. Here is the transcript:

| Mrs. Claus | Nope, he is in his office and I am in mine. |

| Elf Ernest | We have not heard from you in a while, Mrs. Claus. What’s new with you? |
| Mrs. Claus | Not much. I’ve been working a lot of Christmas in July events. Kind of usual for me. |
| Elf Ernest | Christmas in July has been a little more low key this year at the North Pole. |
| Mrs. Claus | Yes, it has been. Santa knows how to put cold water on a party. |
| Elf Ernest | So it’s his fault? |
| ImnotJack | Nothing wrong with low key! |
| Mrs. Claus | Well, yes…..telling all the elves to work on toys! |

| Elf Ulan | Mrs. Claus, did you make a lot of pie for the contest? |
| Mrs. Claus | They ran for the exits. We actually had leftover cookies at Movie Night |
| Mrs. Claus | Yes, Elf Ulan. I made a BUNCH of pies, especially cherry pies this year. |
| Elf Ernest | They were delicious, I can attest. |
| ImnotJack | It was such a good year for cherries! |
| Elf Ernest | Mrs. C, does Santa confer with you before he does things like calling for Toyvember? |

| Mrs. Claus | It WAS a terrific year for cherries. I’m going to can some. |

| Mrs. Claus | Yes, all the time. I have to text him to get his attention. Last night we were in the living room together and I tried to ask him a question. He didn’t hear me because he was so into his phone. So I texted him |

| Santa Claus | Yes, Ernest. I have heard from EVERYONE that you want to talk to me about that. |

| Santa Claus | Yes, Hugo tells me the Post Office has been going crazy over this thing. |
| Elf Ernest | Oh…sorry about that. But…how long is thing going to go on? Elf Bernard is worried. |

| Santa Claus | I’ll be ending Toyvember this week. And yes, Elf Ulan, Randi said she received some ideas from you. I hope they were girl toys, I can’t wait to see them. |

| Santa Claus | It’s not the shortest, but pretty short, yes. But hey, it’s July. |

| Elf Ernest | Toyvember is when Santa sends everyone home to work on toy ideas. They build test toys and submit ideas to Santa for new toys to make. |
| Elf Ulan | Santa! Thank you! Yes, it’s for girls! I hope it makes sense! |

| Santa Claus | We have many elves who have worked really hard the past few weeks on this. I like what I have seen so far. |
| Elf Ernest | Well, Santa, if Toyvember ends this week, where does that put us for Operation Merry Christmas? |
| Santa Claus | Ask me that in about a week. Elf Bernard WAS concerned but we looked at some numbers, he’s going to check some things and if we need to get him some more hands to work in the Workshop, we’ll do that. |
| Elf Ernest | So a two week Toyvember…does that mean the Workshop is two weeks behind? |
| Santa Claus | We don’t know for sure, likely closer to three weeks if we’re being fair. It takes a while to ramp back up and get things working again. But I think we have time to deal with it. Like I said, ask me in about a week. |
| Elf Ernest | Ok, who has questions for Santa and Mrs. Claus? |
| Elf Ernest | I’d like to get to your questions. |
| Elf Ernest | Elf Sugar Cookie? |
| Elf Ernest | Elf ImNotJack? |
| Elf Sugar Cookie | Hi, Santa and Mrs. Claus! Have either of you come up with ideas for new toys for Toyvember? |
| Mrs. Claus | Yes! I have. I’ve tried submitting an idea for safe cooking toys for little girls. Play kitchen stuff made out of silicone. |
| Elf Ernest | That sounds kind of great, Mrs. Claus. |
| Elf Sugar Cookie | That’s a great idea! |
| Mrs. Claus | It keeps getting rejected. |
| Elf Ulan | Elf Ernest, is it okay if it’s not a question, but my gratitude? |
| Elf Ernest | It does? Why? |
| Mrs. Claus | I don’t know. There’s something about it that Santa and the Toy Committee doesn’t like about it. They never tell me. |
| Elf Ernest | Maybe, we can ask Santa now? |
| Santa Claus | The idea hasn’t been rejected, dear. It’s in testing. |
| Mrs. Claus | You never tell anyone when a toy idea gets accepted and tested. I’ve had that idea submitted the past three Toyvembers. |
| Elf Ernest | Go ahead, Elf Ulan. |
| Santa Claus | The committee love the idea |
| Elf Ulan | Elf Ernest, thank you! |
| Mrs. Claus | You should have someone there communicate that. |
| Mrs. Claus | Are they the right size? |
| Santa Claus | You mean small for little hands? |

| Elf Ernest | Wow, interesting to see how all this works. |
| Elf Ernest | Why does it take so long, Santa? |

| Santa Claus | Because a new toy has to be thoroughly tested by children first. Then we have to get it past the parent team, they have to test it too. |
