11 Months Until Christmas
Hi everyone, and Happy New Year! There are just 11 months until Christmas.
The change to the new year has happened and I am happy to report that Operation Merry Christmas 2026 is well underway.
It always feels a little strange to see January and think that Christmas is once again so very far away. But really, it is not.
At least not here at the North Pole.
After all, we still have all of our decorations up. Christmas music is still playing just about everywhere. It’s snowing. And people here are happy and excited.
If you just swooped in via a helicopter at the North Pole you’d think it was the 2nd week of December, not the 3rd week of January.
But that’s just how we roll. We are in a time of year where we stretch Christmas out a little bit.
We did not have a normal December here at the North Pole. If you have been following us for years you know last Christmas was not normal. Elf Frank Myrrh and Elf Crash Murphy talked about that a little bit on their latest episode of the North Pole Podcast.
The crisis in Santa’s workshop made Christmas here very different.
So we’re slow in letting Christmas go. We have been making up for a lot of the things we missed last month.
Santa says that’s great. He believes the world in general gives up Christmas too soon. Christmas trees come down, lights go off, goodies get swapped out for diet drinks and exercise machines, and nobody sings the songs of Christmas any more.
It never used to be that way and it should not be that way, Santa says.
Christmas is a season. It’s not meant to be there and gone in a day.
This year we are celebrating it longer. During these dark, dark days of winter our lights are on and the music is playing.
And you know what?
Everyone is happy.
After all, we’re making plans. We’re making lists. We’re setting goals. We want to have a merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas in 2026.

Like Christmas, it’s a tradition.
