Plans for Christmas in July
July is a special month at the North Pole because we look forward to Christmas in July every year.
It’s a time of work. And a time of play. It is kind of like a really long party.
Why do elves like it so much?
Well, when Christmas comes in December most elves are working so much they don’t really get to do many Christmas activities. That’s not true in July. As elves, we do in July what a lot of people do when it is actually closer to Christmas.
We make cookies. We sing Christmas carols. We throw snowballs. We hang lights and decorate trees. We go to Christmas events like the annual elf toss, the Annual North Pole Snowball fight and Great Dress Like Santa Day.
We don’t report at the things we do during Christmas in July on North Pole News.
But we do share a lot of things.
During Christmas in July we settle a lot of business, as least as it relates to Santa.
For example, during Christmas in July you will learn where the Regional Tracking Centers will be. These are places away from the North Pole that we set up for supporting Santa’s flight come Christmas time. Each sector has a regional tracking center and by the end of July we will not only know where each of these locations are but they will also be open and functional.
And that’s because tracking Santa begins as soon as the Regional Tracking Centers are open. You see, at the North Pole, and around the world, we track Santa for Santa.
That’s a different thing than what many people around the world do when they say they ‘track Santa’.
Stick around here for Christmas in July and you’ll start to understand it. Maybe, if you pay attention, you too can become an elf and will track Santa for Santa. We will tell you all about it.
Now, we know July is a busy time for many people. There are lawns to mow, fireworks to set off, water balloons to toss, hotdogs to eat and all that stuff.
But try to come by as you can.
Don’t forget, if you can swing it, to stop by especially on July 24th and July 25th as we share a replay of Kringle Radio of what happened when we tracked Santa last Christmas. That’s two full days of great Christmas music interrupted by occasional North Pole News. Santa’s ride last December was pretty exciting! And you can hear it all again.

Thank you, Elf Ernest! I’m glad to hear that Santa’s Workshop is going well so far and to listen to the radio show again last year. I’m curious about how the elves are enjoying their vacation and where place the Regional Tracking Center this year. Is it certain that Santa’s sleigh this year will fly faster than last year? Which parts did they change? Santa’s Reindeer make power of his sleigh, so I guess the sleigh would be much lighter. Thank you, Elves Frank and Crash! I look forward to attending the chat with them soon. I hope I can… Read more »
