Why Christmas in July
More Christmas in July events have been canceled. Several days ago it was announced that some events were no longer going to be held but now Christmas in July has been scaled back even further.
The Karaoke Marathon (72 straight hours!), the Eggnog Chugging Contest and the Reindeer Fun Run events have all been put off for this year.
Organizers of these events specifically tie the cancelations to the Logistics Conference at North Pole Flight Command.
That conference – originally scheduled for three days – has been expanded now to more than a full week. Attendees to the conference have swelled to five times it’s original projection with more and more elves being pulled in for instruction about Santa’s Christmas Eve distribution plan.
The original announcements of cancellations of North Pole Christmas in July events was met with a great deal of public complaint. But these new cancellations have hardly raised a response from the community.
“I think elves at the North Pole are starting to grasp the idea that Santa’s new sleigh is a community effort and it’s a big one,” said Elf Roger Star, director of North Pole Flight Command. “We are clearly going to be exceptionally busy between now and when Santa launches.”
