Early Blizzard Slams the North Pole
Winter storm warnings have been issued for all areas of the North Pole as white out conditions persist. It is the first major storm of the winter season and it could stay around a while.
“As happens so often here at the North Pole we don’t wake up one day and there’s a storm that’s over the next day,” commented Elf Seymour Snow, head weather elf at the North Pole. “These storms settle in for weeks at a time and we are fearful what this can do for transport in and out of the North Pole for a while”.
What Seymour is talking about are shipments and the transport of people, in and out of the North Pole.
Santa’s workshop is waiting for much-needed materials so they can catch up on the backlog of toys, which has been building since the workshop was closed for Christmas in July.
But of bigger concern is what the winter weather can mean for transporting people to and from the North Pole. Usually at this time of year passenger traffic by sleigh is fairly light but this year is different with the Workshop trying to source material from all over the place. There are a lot of sleighs going back and forth from the North Pole to various places around the world.
It would be a shame to have lumber, plastic and other items needed by Santa’s workshop on sleighs trying to make it back to the North Pole only to have those flights delayed or cancelled.
