14 Weeks Until Christmas

There are now just 14 weeks left until Christmas. Can you believe it?

Last week I talked about the workshop and the big tent out by the reindeer barn. This week I want to talk about willows, green grass and ferns.

I know. You think that’s weird. But hear me out.

The Reindeer Department – and not Santa’s workshop – got a shipment this week and it was delivered straight to the big white tent over by the Reindeer Barn. It was a shipment of fresh willows, green grass and ferns.

You know what that is?

That’s reindeer food. BABY reindeer food.

The Reindeer Department can’t hide it any longer – what I told you last week was completely correct. That big tent is going to be used to help house and exercise the reindeer babies.

And, guess what? This early winter blizzard is actually helping conditions inside that tent.

We’re at the North Pole, right? There’s no such thing as a small snow storm here. This storm has brought us a lot of snow and that snow has built up a wall outside that tent. Remember when Elf Crash on the radio said that the wind was coming in from the sides of that open tent?

Well, not anymore. The snow drifts have stopped the wind from coming into the tent entirely. There’s no breeze in there. They have some outdoor heaters they brought in and I can tell you it is every bit as warm now in that tent as it is in the barn. It’s amazing.

I was in a meeting this week where the return of the reindeer was talked about. Santa was there in the meeting and someone asked him what he knew about their return. Santa didn’t hesitate to say it: they are due back SOON. Like, very soon. Any day. Any hour. Any minute.

And Santa is concerned about the babies, and that’s why the big tent was put up.

Why this year and not like in years past?

Santa says there are more reindeer babies this year than ever. Historic levels of babies.

Santa says he’ll be giving baby reindeer names between now and New Years, at least. He needs name ideas and he reminded me to remind you that you can send in name suggestions. Santa says this year he is likely to use every name suggestion he receives.

So keep your eye out for more Santa Updates this week. There is sure to be more reindeer news to report very soon.
