Santa gave all of his elves the day off today at the North Pole. The final Sunday before Christmas is one where Santa gathers with elves and their families at the North Pole Chapel for a Christmas devotional.
That tradition continues here this year and we are all looking forward to Santa’s remarks.
It always makes everyone a little nervous to take a day off just before Christmas. What if something gets missed?
But Santa insists that it is necessary and he has promised us that we will all be more clear minded and will work better if we take a break today.
There was a lot of Christmas parties here yesterday. It was declared “Christmas Party Day” in the Council of Departments nearly two months ago. It is a date on the calendar for people who work together to share a little party. Usually everyone brings in a little food and they get off work a little early to exchange gifts and to spend a little merry time together.
We did it in my department too. It was extra festive because the entire North Pole Radio News team is in town for meetings in advance of their Tracking Santa Around the World radio broadcast later this week. You can hear a report on what happened at that party in the player below.
Wherever you are on this Sunday before Christmas we hope you too are getting rest for the big week ahead.
