8 Months Until Christmas
There are 8 months now until Christmas and I apologize for updating you a few days late. Our web department has been hard at work updating the website and I couldn’t post anything. But all is well now and I can give you an update.
As we noted last month Elf vacation season is upon us. Between now and Leon Day in June it is the most popular time for elves to take some time off.
Most elves get two weeks off. But Santa is pulling a fast one on elves this year. He’s calling it a “working vacation” and he’s sending elves off for four weeks between now and the 24th of June.
He wants elves to follow their usual vacation plans – go where they want to go and do what they want to do. But he wants them to do some “elf education” with the other two weeks.
It’s kind of a homework assignment.
Santa is asking his elves to make contact with believers no matter where they are. They are to have personal visits without disclosing they are an elf. They are charged with learning important things about the people they meet – why they believe in Santa, what their best Christmas memories are, just how they celebrate Christmas and what they want from Santa this year.
Santa is asking them to prepare a report on every person they meet and ask these questions.
Santa wants them to meet with at least 25 individuals over the two weeks he is dedicating to this assignment.
Each elf will be reporting to Santa the minute they return.
This assignment, as you can imagine, is loved by some and not-so-much appreciated by others. Elves love to talk about Santa and Christmas but they are challenged when it comes to keeping their own status as an elf undisclosed. It’s not easy for them.
Many elves are anxious and nervous about this.
What can you do? Well, if someone you don’t know strikes up a conversation about Santa and Christmas over the next two months or so, don’t be surprised.
And for goodness sake, don’t ask them if they are an elf.
But be polite and tell them the honest answers to their questions.
We have thousands and thousands of elves at the North Pole and they come from all over the world. They tend to travel all over their world on their vacations, especially to their homelands.
Santa isn’t assigning them anywhere in particular to go. Wherever they go, they are to meet people and come back with answers.
Why is Santa doing this?
Honestly, I’m not entirely sure. I haven’t had a chance to ask him about it yet. But he’s got something in mind, I’m sure of it.
As for Santa himself, he’s not going anywhere on vacation. At least not yet, that I’ve heard.
Elf Bernard told me that while elves are gone over the next two months Santa is staying home and planning to spend a lot of time in his workshop.
I’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, maybe we’ll get a new podcast episode from Frank and Crash discussing this elf thing a little more. We’ll let you know.
