Sleigh Department Quickly Building More Sleighs

There are more sleighs at the North Pole than any other place on earth.

Santa's Sleigh

The Sleigh Department is rushing to build even more of them. You can thank the crisis in Santa’s workshop for making it necessary.

Last Christmas Eve, more than 60,000 reindeer were used on Christmas Eve to move gifts, supplies, elves and reindeer to different places needed in Operation Merry Christmas.

We call that Operation Airlift and it happens every year.

If you assume ten reindeer used for every sleigh that means more than 6000 sleighs were used last Christmas Eve, not counting Santa’s reindeer and sleigh, of course.

Elf Roger Star, is making an announcement of thousands of reindeer called up to early service this year, said they could use up to 100,000 reindeer this year – and that would mean the North Pole would need at least another 4000 sleighs.

For more information about the sleighs and the reindeer needed for Operation Airlift this year, please listen to the North Pole Radio News report in the player above.

Thank you, Elf Harold, and Elves Frank and Crash! Wow, 100 sleighs for 1,000 reindeer, and 100,000 reindeer for 4,000 sleighs! Sounds like Christmas magic! The Christmas spirit will help Santa and them. Do all of the sleigh have jingle bells? I think the jingle bells department will be so busy, too. Can I help them? Happy December and Merry Christmas! 🦌🔔🛷🦌🔔🛷🤞😆
