Vixen Was Injured a Year Ago

Thanks from a tip from a regular visitor to SantaUpdate.com, we now understand that Vixen’s injuries could date back to last Christmas.

Reindeer

Ron Parker, a 31-year old father of two from Florida who has followed SantaUpdate.com since he was 7 years old, alerted us to news from last year when Vixen was reported injured in a training flight.

Vixen recovered from that incident and flew for Santa last Christmas. But it led to other issues earlier this year that resulted in surgery for her last summer.

“Vixen is a very active girl,” said Elf Victor, head of Reindeer Operations at the North Pole. “She’s an athlete, as all of Santa’s reindeer are. She takes exceptional care of herself. But life in the wild and being an experienced flyer frequently puts all of Santa’s reindeer in rough terrain. So leg injuries now and then are not uncommon. Vixen has had a rough year but she’s progressing well and feeling pretty good. Remember, she last won the Reindeer Games in 2020. She can do hard things.”

Vixen’s latest workouts have been encouraging but doctors at Santa’s Stables still are not signing off on her return to full duty.

Thank you, Elf Harold. I thought Vixen got well after her injury last year, but I am sorry; she was not fully healed yet. Blitzen and other reindeer are eager to fly with her; they have a strong bond with each other. I also pray that she gets well and all the reindeer can fly together with Santa willingly! XD

I am so sorry to hear Vixen is not 100 percent ok yet! I hope she will be great for Christmas! I have faith in her and will keep her in my prayers. Is there anything I can leave out as a snack for her to help her feel better on the flight?
