We are fast approaching a major milestone in the countdown to Christmas: Leon Day.

Leon Day is celebrated on June 24th and June 25th. It marks the halfway point to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Leon is “Noel” spelled backwards. This tradition has led to many things being done backwards at the North Pole whenever Leon Day rolls around. Elves are known to talk backwards, walk backwards and even wear their clothes backwards.

It’s a silly tradition that is very popular and it gives a festive start to Christmas in July, a month-long celebration of the season ahead.

With more information about Leon Day and Christmas in July, please listen to the North Pole Radio News report in the player above.
