End of Toyvember Announced

Santa Claus said in North Pole Chat on Sunday that Toyvember would end this week. Today his office issued a formal return-to-work request for all elves on Friday, August 1st. The order effectively ends Toyvember on Thursday, the last day of July.
Toyvember is not a work holiday – it’s a work stoppage on all things unrelated to the creation and invention of new toys. Typically held during slower months between February and May, Toyvember usually yields new toy ideas.
For the first time in history, Santa declared Toyvember during July, which interrupted work on Operation Merry Christmas and subdued Christmas in July activities.
Elf Wally, senior Vice President of Distribution at the North Pole, said that some believe elves take extra vacation time during Toyvember. “Nothing could be further from the truth,” Elf Wally said. “It’s quite a prestigious thing to have a toy idea selected during Toyvember for development. Toys are at the heart of what Santa does. To have him take an idea, make a prototype, test it with children and parents and bring it to production is something that could put an elf in the Elf Hall of Fame. Elves work harder than ever when Toyvember comes.”
Maybe that is why Toyvember is a rare North Pole event. On average, Toyvember comes just once every three years. Many elves secretly work on toy projects all the time in hopes to enter new ideas the next time Toyvember comes around.
