100 Days Until Santa’s Launch

On what would normally be a sleepy Sunday at the North Pole a press conference for North Pole media has been held at North Pole Flight Command to mark a milestone in Operation Merry Christmas – the 100 days until Santa’s Launch mark.

Santa

In just 100 days Santa leaves via express sleigh to deliver Christmas to the world.

We are in a peak activity period at the point in Operation Merry Christmas.

The test flights of Santa’s new sleigh continue in Sector 3, where a fleet of at least 12 sleighs are on the move night and day. Test pilots and reindeer are putting the sleighs through the paces as they try to think of every possible scenario that Santa may face on hist annual flight.

Meanwhile, at the North Pole at North Pole Flight Command, analysts are busy both pouring over the flight data coming in from those test flights and preparing Santa’s Christmas Eve flight plans.

Additionally, Flight Command is monitoring the sign up of new tracker elves and requesting information from them from many parts of the world. Some fail to realize that tracker elves tracking Santa for Santa do the bulk of their work long before Santa ever takes flight. They gather local information that Flight Command has requested and help to build a flight profile that will serve Santa in so many helpful ways come December 23rd.

The 100-day marker is also significant for non-flight related projects and departments at the North Pole.

For those charged with caring for the reindeer and getting them ready the 100-day mark means their calendars are rearranged around the life, routine and the effort to get the reindeer ready to fly.

Additionally, the North Pole Post Office, the Wrapping Department and, yes, Santa’s Workshop, all have projects on time lines that need to be complete long before Santa wants to take off.

It just couldn’t be busier at the North Pole right now. For more information about the 100-day marker, please listen to the North Pole Radio News report in the player above.
