Understanding Operation Merry Christmas
Operation Merry Christmas is something many new visitors to SantaUpdate.com struggle to understand.
For the young visitor, Santa makes all the toys with the help of a few elves and then delivers them with the help of a few reindeer.
Operation Merry Christmas is much bigger than just a few elves and reindeer.
There are millions of elves who help Santa. And there are thousands of reindeer required to help Santa deliver.
Operation Merry Christmas is what we call the effort to coordinate all the elves, reindeer and sleighs that Santa needs to deliver on Christmas Eve.
We plan for it all year. We work on it every day of the year. We countdown the days to Santa’s launch not only because we are excited for Christmas but also because we have to get all that work done by the time Santa takes off from the North Pole.
We call all of this Operation Merry Christmas. We take it in steps.
We are now in what we call the pre-delivery phase of Operation Merry Christmas. It is a time to get everything ready for the next phase, which is called the delivery phase.
Pre-delivery means we are putting the final pieces into place for Santa to fly.
The Sleigh Department is putting the final touches on Santa’s new sleigh and test flights of that sleigh are going on now (and have been happening for months). You can follow along with those test flights at SantaTrackers.net.
North Pole Flight Command, which is the largest department at the North Pole, is busy planning Santa’s flight. That is a massive effort that requires millions of elves. You can be one of those elves and track Santa for Santa. Santa trackers are sending in reports from all areas of the world to give Santa information he will need as he delivers.
At the North Pole, the Reindeer Department is preparing for the Reindeer Games. The games will help Santa assign all the reindeer jobs to do on Christmas Eve, from helping on Santa’s sleigh itself to shuttling items all over the world. Reindeer are needed to move things, to run scout sleighs, to move elves around and support Santa’s flight in every possible way. Santa’s sleigh is not the only one in the air on Christmas Eve. All of those sleighs require flying reindeer.
Of course, Santa’s Workshop, the Wrapping Department, the North Pole Post Office, and a lot of other departments fill out Santa’s workflow and all of them are part of Operation Merry Christmas.

Thank you, Elf Harold! Operation Merry Christmas is the most important. I hope every department prepares it smoothly. We; the tracker elves for Santa, are also working on it around the world. I heard Santa needs more elves to help. Thank you, Elves Frank and Crash! Yes, simple answers make us understand clearly, lol. I enjoy listening to their radio news all the time!
Have a fantastic day and Merry Christmas!🌟🎄🦌🛷🎅😊
