Thanksgiving Moves Forward at the North Pole
After a week of rumor and suggestion to cancel Thanksgiving activities at the North Pole due to a bad weather forecast and the crisis in Santa’s workshop, the Office of Mrs. Claus has issued a statement on behalf of Santa Claus.

“Thanksgiving plans at the North Pole scheduled for next week will continued as planned,” the press release stated. “The Thanksgiving Day Elf Parade will, as always, be held regardless of the weather. So too will the Turkey Bowl. And the annual luncheon will be held, as expected, at the North Pole Events Center.”
Santa’s office also issued some comments from Santa about the importance of Thanksgiving.
“Thanksgiving, no matter when celebrated or where by tradition, is an important element of the celebration of Christmas. Gratitude is not only important but essential. Thanksgiving is Santa’s favorite holiday not because he loves the food but because he loves the purpose of Thanksgiving – which is, to be grateful.
Santa believes is it important to “count our blessings” as the very first part of having a Merry Christmas.”
As a result of this decision, North Pole Flight Command has issued a recall notice of all reindeer and elf personnel to return to the North Pole for Thanksgiving no later than Wednesday, November 26th. Test flights of Santa’s sleigh will resume on Saturday, November 29th.
Like anywhere, the North Pole has working departments that serve 365 days a year to provide essential services. Elves working in medical, police, and fire departments will still be scheduled on Thanksgiving Day.
Other departments, such as the North Pole Post Office, work with a minimal level of staffing so they can remain open while giving as many of their elves as possible the day off.
It is not yet known what will happen in Santa’s workshop. We expect to have an announcement soon from Elf Bernard.
