8 Months Until Christmas
Greetings, friends. There are 8 months now until Christmas – one full third of the year is behind us.
That means that test flight season is soon to be upon us.
As Elf Trixie told us in her last update the debate about the new design of Santa’s sleigh has been fierce. But I believe that debate has been settled, a new design has been offered up and just THIS morning Santa has given his approval to move forward.
That leaves us about a month to get the first prototype model of Santa’s sleigh built.
Because this new sleigh is using a radical new design that is being rushed, getting the first of its kind built is a tall order. It is being built from the ground up, so it won’t be done quickly. To help move the process along, Santa has authorized a construction team of experts from Santa’s workshop to join builders in the Sleigh Department to make it.
New this year will be changing the test flight sleighs from numbers to names. In years past we have just called the Version #1 and so on until the final sleigh was built. This time we will call each version by a name, starting with the letter A.
And, given Santa’s tradition of sticking with a girl’s name for his sleigh, each version of the test flight sleighs will bear a girl’s name as well.
So, this first version of Santa’s all new sleigh will be called Amelia.
As scheduled, Amelia will hit the skies the first week of June – as long as the construction team can have her ready by then.
Elves here at the North Pole are relieved to have movement on the new sleigh project. Some were starting to get nervous. But it appears to be well on track now.
