Operation Merry Christmas Kicks Off
Santa Claus and thousands of elves in Santa’s workshop gathered briefly in the atrium to hold a ceremony to open the delivery phase of Operation Merry Christmas.
From now until Santa’s launch time a large countdown clock slowly descends day by day until it stops at about eye level on the day that Santa is scheduled to take off. The time you see to launch on Official North Pole websites is linked to this one clock.
The countdown is synchronized with clocks at North Pole Flight Command, at the North Pole Post Office, the Wrapping Department, the Reindeer Operations Department and the Sleigh Department.
Literally everyone at the North Pole and involved in any way in Operation Merry Christmas knows what time it is.
This day – the day after Thanksgiving – is the biggest marker on the calendar of the year for any elf.
It means everything needs to be done.
And we’re really watching it this year, with the crisis in Santa’s workshop going on.

Thank you, Elf Harold, and Elves Frank and Crash! I’m glad to hear that the elves had a good time for Thanksgiving. Were the Sector Supervisors and their teams there?
