Test Flights Over North America
North Pole Flight Command recently announced to tracker elves that flights would be visible over North America during the month of August and already reports of sleigh sightings are pouring in.
“We want those flight to be seen,” said Elf Buck Sanchez, flight director at the North Pole, which is charged with coordinating the test flights of Santa’s sleigh.
Santa’s sleigh, which is evaluated every year and subject to redesign, is customarily given months of test flights before Santa’s next ride around the world.
According to recent reports from the Sleigh Department published on Flight Command’s website, the sleigh is on Version #2 and a dozen sleighs are currently in the test flight fleet.
Because of having so many sleighs in constant flight over one area the odds of seeing a test flight with the naked eye, especially at night, are very good.
Elf Supervisor Pinky Yates, from the Regional Tracking Center for Sector 5 in Christmas Island, Nova Scotia, reports that videos and pictures are streaming in.
According to flight planners at North Pole Flight Command the test flights are expected to be visible in the skies above the Pacific coast of Mexico, the USA and Canada over at least the next week before moving east to other areas.
