Changes to the Thanksgiving Day Elf Parade

The Parade Committee, charged with directing the Thanksgiving Day Elf Parade at the North Pole, announced significant changes for the parade this year.
The time of the parade has been changed from starting at 8am to beginning two hours later at 10am. The Parade Committee is making this change at the request of the North Pole High School Marching Band, which this year plans to have more than 700 members including musicians from the North Pole Hand Bell Choir. They need more time to organize such a large group. It is estimated that the parade will run from 10am to 2pm.
The parade route has some changes, too. The parade route this year will begin on Kringle Blvd near Mistletoe Park.
Parade groups will be organized in the parking lot of the Kringle Candy Cane Company (this year the company promised to have the gates open the day before the parade).
In an exciting change the Parade Committee said this year’s parade will allow participants to once again throw candy into the crowd as long as it is not hard candy and so long as everyone brings enough candy for people at the end of the parade route.
