Reindeer Games Opening Ceremony

Reindeer Games

The opening ceremonies of the annual Reindeer Games began with a parade of reindeer athletes. The grandstands were full and the marching bands were out as this earlier-in-the-season schedule for the games has allowed a great many more fans here at the North Pole to participate.

Reindeer Update

It is anticipated that all events will be well-attended this year.

The weather broke in time for the parade today and most observers were able to enjoy it under partly cloudy skies.

Santa and Mrs. Claus also attended the parade and both indicated they would be enjoying many of the events scheduled for this week. Again, as with most elves at the North Pole, this has not always been possible in years past.

Experts this year say Blitzen is still the reindeer to beat but they also give last year’s champion, Rudolph, high odds to repeat this year. Rudolph is weighing in slightly heavier than a year ago after a long offseason of special diets and exercise.

As others have reported, the rookie class is very good for this year’s games but only one standout is expected to do well. His name is Rodrigo and he has become an early favorite as fans have flocked to observe his work outs.

The games begin tomorrow with the 500-yard dash, a running event that does not include any flight time.

We will update you as events unfold.

Thank you, Elf Harold! I’m glad Santa and Mrs. Claus enjoyed the events with the elves! I can’t take my eyes off the reindeer games this year! I think many reindeer are stronger. How’s the snow there? I hope it’s okay for the reindeer. I’m excited if there will be a new history of the games! Who was the fastest at the 500-yard dash? Enjoy! Merry Christmas! XD
