First Major Snowstorm of the Season
The first major winter snowstorm of the season has walloped the North Pole with several feet of snow.
It is not unusual for the North Pole to get large amounts of snow any day of the year. It is, after all, the North Pole.
Elf Seymour Snow, head elf at the Weather Department, reports that the large snowstorm is not out of line with calendar. Seymour says the North Pole is forecast for a “normal winter”, which means prodigious amounts of snow from October through April.
Elf Seymour says the extended forecast for the weeks leading up to Christmas so far show expected weather activity and snow accumulation to be “about normal”. It is too early for Elf Seymour to say exactly what weather conditions at the North Pole will be come launch time for Santa.
Some have expressed concerns for Santa and Mrs. Claus, who are in Canada this week celebrating Thanksgiving with family. Elf Seymour says there is no cause for concern.
Others wonder if the weather will have any bearing on the Reindeer Games, which are also slated to begin this week.
According to Elf Victor in the Reindeer Operations Department the rules of the Reindeer Games stipulate that the games go on regardless of the weather conditions. Many reindeer trainers say the reindeer actually prefer to compete in the games when the weather is poor.
We will keep you posted.

Thank you, Elf Harold. I hope the snowstorm has stopped now and everyone there is safe. I think the recent weather is a little strange. (It was still 78f today in my area) Elf Seymour is an expert, so he and his department will take measures to the weather before Santa launches. I hope Santa and Mrs. Claus will return to the North Pole safely, and the reindeer will enjoy their games. Thank you always for managing the weather. Merry Christmas! XD
