7 Weeks Until Christmas
Hi friends! It’s 7 weeks until Christmas today and, boy, is it snowing at the North Pole. It’s like someone turned on a snow machine.
We had a bit of snow before Halloween. But since Halloween it has been one continual blizzard.
This is what I call the magic zone when it comes to snow. Everyone loves the snow at this time of the year. Any snow coming in right now is a promise of a white Christmas. For many people that’s a big deal.
It’s not for me. I grew up in Colorado, where it snows a great deal, and it long lost its Christmas charm for me.
But I understand how snow fits with Christmas and how people just love the snow at Christmastime.
The reindeer love the snow. We get asked all the time: Don’t the reindeer get cold in the snow?
The answer is no. They love the snow. They love looking for food in the snow. They love running in the snow and they love flying in the snow. Did you know that no other animal on earth flies as well in the snow as Santa’s reindeer?
We are getting a lot of questions about the reindeer and I’m totally here for it. I love being around them. I love learning about them.
I’m going to make it a point in my weekly countdown updates to you to say something new about the reindeer that you don’t know.
Right now, the reindeer are so incredibly relaxed. Getting the excitement of the reindeer games behind us in October was such a good idea.
For now, the reindeer are enjoying themselves a great deal. The Reindeer Operations Department is a first class operation. They take excellent care of the reindeer. I can tell you that right now the reindeer are eating just the right things and getting plenty of good exercise.
But for November they are very relaxed. There is no stress. No pressure. All the reindeer are awaiting news of their Christmas Eve assignments and Santa has not really said a whole lot about that yet because it is still so early.
So the reindeer, when I see them at least, are playing a great deal. They are enjoying each other’s company. And, of course, they are playing in the snow.
You don’t need to worry about them. They are very happy.
Next week, I’ll tell you some things about them you don’t know.
Until then.

Thank you, Elf Trixie! Snow in my area is rare, so you are lucky to see it! I’m glad all the reindeer relax now. I’m curious about how Santa will assign the reindeer, too, and how old they will retire. I’d be delighted if I could help reindeer anytime! Thank you, Merry Christmas! XD
