47 Weeks Until Christmas
Happy Wednesday and guess what? There are only 47 weeks until Christmas!
Big meetings going on at the North Pole. And plenty of banquets, too. It’s Elf of the Year season.
Every year each department at the North Pole announces their Elf of the Year. These are elves who perform at exceptional levels. While most department heads will ask for recommendations from all elves on who should win Elf of the Year it ultimately comes down to that head elf in the department – and Santa.
I asked Santa about this and he told me it is one of the least favorite parts of his job. He says it is too difficult to pick just one elf to recognize because there are so many great elves out there. He told me he wished he could give me an Elf of the Year award. How flattering is that?
I’m exempt from that stuff. As a result of my position in the Office of Mrs. Claus I cannot be picked for Elf of the Year.
That’s okay with me. In my job I get to see so many hardworking elves who just give and give and give year round. I’m glad the Elf of the Year award in each department can only go to a “regular” elf.
Santa has been a busy guy with all this stuff going on. He’s meeting with every department and getting information about how Christmas went before he lays down the big plan for this year.
In many ways, January is a pause for us. Santa gives us some time off right after Christmas but then we go back to work but things are kind of suspended while Santa meeting with the head elves in each department, reviews things and talks big plans.
Those of us not in on that stuff have to wait to know what our projects will be for the months ahead. Even Mrs. Claus is waiting on Santa.
But I’ll tell ya – Mrs. Claus is planning even without hearing from Santa. She has a lot of stuff she wants to do even without hearing from Santa. I can’t tell you about it yet, but I will.
Now, I know there’s a question coming as a result of this post. You guys never fail me. You’re going to ask me is there is a Reindeer of the Year or an Elf of the Year in the Reindeer Department. The answer is yes.
But, the answer is also, I don’t know.
I’ll have to save that for next week. It will be announced in the Reindeer Department very soon. You bet I’ll let you know.
Toodles.

Thank you, Elf Trixie! I didn’t know that each department has an Elf of the Year. How many departments do they have? 40? I hope Elf Trixie will be picked in the News Department someday. I’m also curious about who received the Reindeer Department award. I bet Vixen or Mighty Mick. I wonder if she can post about the award ceremony there. I want to say congratulations to all of them! Thank you, Santa, and Merry Christmas 🎅 🌟🏅🏆👏😊
