Will Santa's Sleigh Be Ready? 1

updateGood news to report! The work of the Tooth Fairies is helping a great deal in the Wrapping Department and Elf Wally says they have really made up a lot of ground in the last hour. But other areas of Operation Merry Christmas are still having issues. It has many wondering here at the North Pole if Santa will delay his launch.

“I hope not,” Elf Billy in the Santa Tracking Center said. “We put a lot of work in planning Santa’s flight and a delay would toss all that work out the window.”

Elf Bernard is feeling a little discouraged at this hour. The latest problem in the workshop has set him back several hours. He was hoping to be done before Santa’s launch. But now there is no way that can happen. “It isn’t the end of the world,” Elf Bernard said. “We can keep working after Santa leaves and catch up to him later. We figure by now we have most of the world done, up to just about all of Europe now. We still have time to wrap up things for North and South America, we will just have to miss Santa’s launch, that’s all.”

Elf Quinton is more worried about Santa’s sleigh right now. The bell problem is bigger than he first thought. The bells are crafted over the course of the year and they are fit specifically for Santa’s new sleigh. It isn’t like some bells from last year’s sleigh can just be used again. They all have to match exactly. There is a silversmith over at the sleigh barn right now making these new bells by hand. This is a highly specialized process, something that usually takes weeks to accomplish. They are trying to wrap it up within the next few hours. Elf Gloria is saying she doubts it can be done and done right. We will keep you updated.
