Hi everyone! There are now just 19 weeks until Christmas and we’re feeling the turn of the season now in important ways.
For many, it is back to school time.
How do we know? Elf Hugo at the North Pole Post Office reports a surge in letters, messages and questions for Santa from school teachers.
Many teachers are tracker elves. They follow the news and direction of tracking Santa at SantaTrackers.net. Some teachers track Santa on behalf of their entire class, which results in the growth of young people who join the ranks of elves tracking Santa for Santa each Christmas.
The months of September, October and November are the time of year when we see more student-aged children become an elf.
What are these teachers asking?
Future episodes of the North Pole Podcast will take on those questions. Elf Crash Murphy says Santa wants those teachers given priority because they are best suited to reaching young believers who need those answers.
Mrs. Claus told me this week that her mail from teachers is increasing as well. Questions for Mrs. Claus all seem to be about Santa and Christmas foods.
Speaking of Christmas foods, Mrs. Claus is getting ready to host a series of workshops at the North Pole that focuses on Christmas foods. Cookies are always a popular topic, as is eggnog. But Mrs. Claus says this year a bigger part of her food focus will be on preparing food for reindeer.
In the weeks ahead, I’ll be sharing some recipes from Mrs. Claus as she builds a “Christmas Eve Food Primer” for Christmas fans everywhere.
Also, coming in the countdown news soon will be a reindeer update. We have some new art to share and we’re trying to set up a chat with someone from the Reindeer Department who can tell us more about what happens when Santa’s reindeer come back to the North Pole.
