As you can hear in the North Pole Radio News report in the player above, Santa’s reindeer are beginning their return to the North Pole.

Only a few have come back so far, and none of the A-team of Santa’s reindeer have yet to arrive. But those who are back usually signal the return of the others.

Over at the Reindeer Operations Department they have been preparing for weeks to see the reindeer come back. Hay, oats and other things needed for their care and feeding have been stock piled. All is ready for them to come back.

Some are speculating that the weather of recent days could be driving the reindeer to return. Elf Victor, head elf of Reindeer Operations, says that he doubts that is the case. While reindeer enjoy snow they seem to have a sense of when to return based on what they feel about Santa’s mission. Some years they come back late – usually just before Thanksgiving – but other years, like this one, they come back in September.

Santa is thrilled to see this starting.

But no plans have been made yet for reindeer training or the annual reindeer games. Once Santa feels enough of them are back he will talk things over with Elf Victor in starting up all those activities.

We will keep you posted.

Thank you Elf Harold for sharing this! I feel relieved the snowstorm stopped and Elf Crash didn’t have a cold. I didn’t know all reindeer in the Depertmant are Santa’s reindeer! I couldn’t catch his name is who first comes bacK, and I’m curious why he always comes back to the North Pole first. Thank you Elves Frank and Crash, I look forward to see updates and the picture In the near future!
